Today’s cord cutting story has nothing to do with cable television, but has everything to do with Apple.

“With iPhone 7 and 7 plus we’re moving to connect them over lightening, ” said Head of Marketing, Phil Schiller.

The biggest shock is the iPhone 7 will not have a headphone socket. Consumers will have to pay $159 to buy Apple’s new wireless headphones. If you don’t have money to invest in Apple’s new headphones, an adapter is provided for corded headphones.

“Our smartphones are packed with technologies, it’s all fighting for space in that same enclosure,” said Head of Marketing, Phil Schiller.

The phone’s entry price is $649 and the iPhone 7 plus is $769. According to reports, wireless carriers aren’t subsidizing phone purchases. The cash outlay for an iPhone 7 is a heavy hit to the pocketbook.

“The big threat to Apple is the potential that people are holding their iPhone’s longer, which we think is happening to a small extent. And that they start looking at the cheaper iPhone’s and say that’s good enough,” said Pacific Crest Security Andy Hargreaves.

However, those who decide to pay for the new phone they will receive a water resistant iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 plus will have two rear cameras.

“It automatically jumps to using the telephoto lens and automatically you see the depth effect. You are seeing the blur in the background it is being generated in real time as you are looking at the screen,” said Schiller.

The company also announced the second series of the Apple watch, which is water resistant to a depth of 50 meters.

“It is faster, it is brighter, it is water resistant so you can swim with it. It’s got a built in GPS and it’s got all of the power for Watch OS 3.” said Apple COO Jeff Williams.

Customers can pre-order the phones on Friday, September 9 and will be available the Friday, September 16.

The memory on both phones have increased compared to previous iPhone’s. It will costs consumers $100 to upgrade from 32 gigabytes-to 128 gigabytes and another $100 to upgrade to 256 gigabytes.
